Lia+Rob: Wedding in a Tuscan Vineyard

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Hello ladies,

I’ve seen so many wedding photos since I’ve started this blog and sometimes it happens to me that I come across some images which do not look real. They are more like dreams printed out in a piece of paper…well, the wedding I’d like to show you today is one of those dreams which come true…

Lia and Rob are from New York and last summer they decided to get married in Italy. For their cerimony and reception they chose Vignamaggio Villa, an old vineyard in Tuscan countryside…

In this wedding I absolutely love the light pink walls of the Italian farm, the bride’s dress and the lovely cork placehoders which perfectly represents the Italian style of the wedding! And now I’ll stop talking and let you enjoy with these photos by Simply Bloom

A funny wedding photo booth

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Morning all!

Do you remember Romina and Pino’s wedding and her hippie dress last week?
A real Italian wedding with the right amount of romance and elegance, isn’t it? Right, that was only one side of their wedding.

Cinzia
, their photographer,  arranged an ilarious photo booth session with funny masks and jokes which involved all their guests…so if you want something different from the traditional and boring pictures with all the family lined up like in a studio…that a brilliant idea!

The last day of Autumn…

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Good morning everyone,

Have you realised today it’s the last day of Autumn? Orange, dark red, yellow…where are all these autumnal colours? Burried under the snow? Probably…

I thought to dedicate a post on orange and red calla lilies to this last day of Autumn, which has nothing of autumnal…

The above hand-tied bouquet by Holly Heider Chapple Flowers has mixed orange mango and yellow callas with circus roses, red spray roses, billy balls, fiddle head fern and orange dahlias. The bouquet is finally decorated with some mini grapevine balls and collared with angle vine…and I love the groom’s boutonniere!

The other bouquet I chose today is a red coloured bouquet by Kio Kreations. Red callas, ranunculus and amaryllis, I think it could be perfect for a Christmas wedding! I like the detail of the white ribbon which recalls the bride dress! Love it!
I’ve also found a picture of the bridesmaids bouquets…I really like this unusual combination of white and red colour with a black ribbon…

A love story in the Italian mountains

Friday, December 17th, 2010

I’m looking forward to (on order):

1.
the week end. This one will be really special. An old friend of mine who I haven’t seen for more than two years is coming over for a couple of days, so I forecast a lot of chatting and laughting…
It’s also her birthday, so we will eat and drink like celebrities! Yes, a bit of posh!

2. going back to Italy. I can’t wait! I haven’t been home since last July and I’m already dreaming of nice glasses of spriz, chats with my lovely girlfriends and abundant dishes of my mum’s food…

Everytime I go back home  it’s like a revelation…of something new or, most of the times, of something old I had forgotten…
Last Christmas I spent a lovely afternoon with my granny…MrB and I drove her to the little village she used to  live when she was young and where she met my granpa.
This is a photo of the place in the Friuli mountains – it’s called Staligial and it’s almost abandoned now…

Wedding in the Mountains
We had a nice walk through the village where I had been only twice before, while my granny started talking about old times…we couldn’t stop her she was walking and talking…we saw my granny’s old house (the one below is the entrance door)

and then we took the path to her old school which had plenty of some fluffy flowers (don’t know their name unfortunately).

I wish everyone could have such a granny!

3. getting something nice from Santa – Please Santa I’ve been so good, be good too!

Wisteria flowers for a romantic hippie dress…

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Do you like the wisteria’s smell?

I know it’s quite strong but I love it! It reminds me of summers in Italy, when I used to chill out in my parents’ garden…so when I got Cinzia‘s e-mail with this fab pics of Romina’s hippie wedding dress I had smells and colours all around my head!

Wisteria flowers in wedding dress
I love the idea of purple and lavender coloured wisteria flowers to decorate a white wedding dress. These ones made of thin and transparen fabric are so elegant! Plus I like Romina’s hairdo - very simple but with a purple ribbon around a lock of hair…

I simply love her intriguing low cut at the back and what about this hairy long tail?

I leave you with this romantic photo of Romina and Pino dancing at the rhythm of her dad’s concertina…but I will post something funnier about this real Italian wedding soon! Keep tuned!

Whimsical invitations for an Italian Wedding

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Hello hello!

A bright blue background, a whimsical font and a very light graphic! Plus a bit of creativity. You do not need more than that to get modern designer invitations for your wedding!
That’s why I really like these ones made by graphic designer Andrea Beretta. He created them for Marta and Enrico, a couple of friends who got married a few days ago in Novi Ligure (North of Italy)…
I hope you enjoy this late post today!

Discover rural luxurious masserie in Puglia

Monday, December 13th, 2010

Hello sweeties!

What better than some lovely photos to cheer me up during a freezing raining day? While I was online looking for some inspirational ideas I came across some great shoots of Masseria Cimino (masseria is a XVIII century fortified farm) in Puglia, South of Italy, which I thought could be the ideal place for a spring wedding in Italy.

I have to admit that I’m particularly attached to this less known territory of our country; it reminds of the good old time when I was at Uni and I spent a wonderful year over there! People are so charming and welcoming!

Wedding in the South of Italy

Over the recent years masserie have been completely renewed and turned into luxurious hotels which still preserve the original character of the building and the place: rurality, architecture, sense of nature and agriculture.

As you can see in these photos nature is all around: olive trees acres, wonderful blue sky, wild beaches all in one!

A classic hand-made leather wedding album

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

Hi girls,

I realize this morning that I never told you about the choice Gianluca and I made for our wedding album!

One thing was for sure: the wedding album and the photographer in general was an investment and we were happy to spend the right amount of money on them! Of course, our budget did not blow up because of the photographer and the album, but we wanted to have a true good looking album, hope you like it!

It took me quite a while before I came across Andrea’s hand-made leather photo albums. He is based in Pesaro, in the Marche region, and he has got neither a website nor a blog: he simply sells his albums through the Ebay shop.

All leather albums we had seen in shops were really expensive, and not really bespoke… We were looking for something to be created in the size, colour and shape we wanted… And we found it among Andrea’s wide range of products!

If you contact him with your personal requirements (including the number of pages your album must contains), he will certainly come back to you in a fast turnaround with a bespoke offer and will send you offline the full range of albums models he makes – not all are in Ebay unfortunately! We paid something like 120€ for our album, and prices would start 25€ up to 350€, so definitely Andrea has a solution for all budgets…

We loved the quality of the leather, the colour and the detail of the album finishing, and also the fact Andrea was really fast in making our album really! In the end, we spent more time choosing and printing out our pictures than receiving our bespoke album! Thanks Andrea!

And you, what type of wedding album did you go for? Traditional or modern?
