Walking on sunshine…

Happy Monday ladies!

Today I’ve got a little treat for all the shoeaholic out there!
I’ve discovered Ferracuti wedding shoes through our blog friend and photographer Cinzia, who took the pictures for their collections.

The new collection has got a lot going on – from flat white or coloured shoes to more sophisticated high heels decorated with rhinestones…sooo beautiful!
Plus they make a lot of shoes accessories like clips which you could use to make you shoes unique!

I was particularly intrigued by the video in the “handwork” section, which shows you how they make their shoes…really made in Italy!

What about this lovely vintage wedding dress with light yellow decorations? Cinzia was so proud to tell me this is her mum’s wedding dress!

Hi girls,

I’ve got something really creative for you today which I hope could give nice diy ideas for all of you who are planning their wedding in Italy.

A few days ago I came back from work and I found a nice hand-written letter just for me in the doorway! I have always loved receiving letters and I wish I could have more of them!
So here below the content of the envelope…

Purple invitation and tags for wedding in italy
Alex and Tom’s wedding invitations! What a surprise!
They are a lovely English couple who got in touch with us a while ago in order to have some help in arranging their wedding in Tuscany next September.

Alex is a really creative girl and she has made her own invitations, designing a series of little tags which will help them and their guests having a great day in Italy. So each tag corresponds to a piece of information the couple would like to have from them: together to the more obvious “attendance” one, I really loved the “dietary” one – please let us know if there is something you can’t eat!) and the “music” tag which allows each single guest to choose one or more songs to be played during the danging time! While the “arrival & departure” one is more like practical in order to arrange transportation for everyone.

Wedding Invitations and tags

I love the decorations too and also the little stickers with their address which were in the envelope, so that their guests can send the tags back to let them know what they’d like for their wedding.

I also like the little grapes drawing (Italian grapes by the way!)

2011 Italian bridal dresses fashion trends…

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

Happy Monday everyone,

I feel like starting the week with some insights on fashion! Colour will be the main actor of year 2011 bridal dress season according to the last Milano Bridal Fashion Show during which new 2011 collections were presented!

Designers will combine traditional white with colourful elements: blue, pink, black and pearl grey will be on the top!

Designers won’t forget details including Swarovski pearls elements, always of great visual, precious and elegant effect! Swarovski means light and designers know it!

It seems that tulle will be on top of the fabric that will be used by designers

Although you might not be attracted by colour, we leave you with a few 2011 collections gorgeous bridal dress models from both traditional and young Italian designers; it’s worth giving them a glance and…

…checking their websites as well…

> Fabio Gritti
> Dalin Vinni – a fantastic designer based in South Italy
> Bianca Sposa
> Grigio Monterosso – where tradition and innovation meet in an aggressive way
> Domo Adami

And you, is your wedding dress already chosen for this year?

Lollipop, lollipop…

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Good morning ladies!

I’ve got something different for you today.
Two Italians who got married in the UK. Quite unusual, isn’t it?

I found this stylish couple through Rock My Wedding (I love these girls!), they are really cool! I love in order:
- their photographer Samantha Capitano
- her vintage dress by Morgan Davies and his royal blue suit by Richard James
- her shoes (she had her shoes clips personalized on Etsy)
- bouquet with lollipops by Angel Flowers and lollipop button hole (soo sweet!)
- candies table

Here the Elisa’s story:

I am a shoe maniac so I wanted to wear at least 2 different pair of shoes – one for the ceremony and the other for the reception. The first pair was a simple ivory one I bought from All Saints, which I personalized with some shoe clips I had made done especially for me on Etsy. The lollipop shoe clips matched my groom’s and the groom men’s buttonholes and fit perfectly with the whole lollipop theme.
The shoes I wore for the reception were from Kurt Geiger. A beautiful pair of black and white striped heels completed by a big satin black bow on the top. To complement the shoes I also changed belt for the reception going for a black flowers and pearls little piece I got from Blue Sugar Bridal on Etsy.
My dress was from Morgan Davies London, from their own collection. It was a 50s style tea length ivory dress that we combined with a lace bolero and a bow belt from Novia D’Art. I tried only a few dresses before finding ‘the one’. After the first fitting I immediately realized that big dresses with trails were not my thing. I wanted something I could move comfortably in, dance and party all day and night.

DIY Italian save the date

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

Hellooo!

We are officially up and running after a very long Christmas holiday in Italy – food, lovely friends and relaxing chatting.
So I’m ready to start with a lot of energy and today I would like to talk about wedding stationary!

I always love receiving letters and cards by post…I love the idea someone has thought of me and more than that I like discovering what there is inside: thoughts, drawings and all the other feelings and emotions you can find nested in between the hand writing lines.

I would like to show you Valentina‘s diy save the date cards which might have already reached her guests! Valentina lives in London but she is Italian and she will get married to an American guy  next June in her hometown of Pescara.
She chose an elegant gray with baroque frames and rhinestones to give some luxe. I really like them and more than that I love the story of her engagement day which you can read after the pictures!

About a month ago, something beautiful happened…and I am now ready to tell you all about it!
It was Tuesday, September the 14th and I spent the whole day at a conference.
Rob had booked a table at one of our favourite restaurants down the Tower Bridge area. It’s the restaurant we chose to have dinner in when Rob finally found a job in London, now more than four years ago.

While walking, it started pouring down and it rained so hard I almost wanted to cry! We put our hoods up and started running but when we were very close to the Tower Bridge Rob stopped; I turned over to look at him and he was holding a ring. There, in our favourite spot in London, under a torrential rain, he asked me to marry him. It was so bad and so perfect at the same time!

And the marvellous thing was that the ring was fake! So I looked at him and laughed and cried at the same time. It seemed to be in the set of a movie, the rain for a moment didn’t seem to bother us, it was just the two of us, embracing each other, with the lights of the majestic Tower Bridge behind us. Of course I said yes! Rob and I have been talking about wedding, marriage, honeymoon, kids, growing old together, retirement…since the very first night we met.

It was an easy question! I said yes without a ring, and I said yes with a plastic ring! The day after, we met for lunch, he told me he was going to be around my office, so we thought it would be nice to have lunch together. Instead, we *had lunch* at De Beers in the so elegant Bond Street and I confirmed my yes. Rob picked Aura, a very beautiful ring. I think it’s delicious!

Getting married in Italy for British citizens -Part II

Monday, January 10th, 2011

Hi loves,

Remember the last article we wrote about the first legal steps your future husband and you need to take into account while planning your civil wedding ceremony in Italy.

Yes, you’re now married! But what happens next?! You will certainly wonder what kind of official paper will make your marriage valid without you having to marry again overseas!

Here we are with a short list telling you what happens after the civil ceremony is performed.

> Once the ceremony has been performed you will be issued with a marriage certificate. You must then provide the Consular Officer in the town where the marriage was performed with a certified copy of the marriage certificate, having been duly authenticated by the local authority.

> You will also need to provide a translation of the marriage certificate in English.

> The document can then be forwarded on your request to the General Registrar Office in the UK.

Be aware that your marriage WILL NOT be registered in the UK, your marriage certificate will merely be deposited for their records, and consequently your original marriage certificate will not be returned to you. This in no way makes your marriage invalid. Should you both need your marriage certificate in the future the General Register Office can issue you with a certificate, should the need arise.
