Autumnal colours

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

Hi girls,

I’ve just come back from our trip to Tuscany for Alex and Tom’s wedding.
I’m shattered for the frenetic preparation of their big day where everything had to be (almost) perfect; and I’m also full of emotional feelings remembering the bride’s father who came to me and ask me if I could explain what he had to do when his daughter would have come down from the stairs; or Tom’s shining eyes when he saw Alex’s in her beautiful creamy dress…actually this bit was quite funny – I was nearly crying even though I wasn’t part of the family and then Tom spotted me and with a surprised face said “don’t start too please!”).

I was also a bit nervous because I was the official translator at the civil ceremony and I was really worried to get too emotional and not be able to speak!

Waw, Alex and Tom’s wedding was great – I enjoyed all the planning we did in the last months and the time we spent in Tuscany jocking with Franco at the town hall to sort out the burocratic paperwork, with Ida to spot the nicest and most romantic corners of the villa and with Sylvie to make everything (almost) perfect!

I will post some pictures shortly, in the meantime enjoy this photos with Autumnal colours and tones.
It was very hot when we were there but you could feel the summer was over from the fresh breeze which slowly was washing away the late light of the day…

Our outfit picks at the Venice Film Festival 2011

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

Hi girls!
The 2011 Venice Film Festival has started a few days ago and since it’s not that far from us we thought to have a look at this year’s fashion trend and picked our favourite dresses from the stars who were attending the event.

Our top three mid-lenght dresses list is made of: Madonna‘s simple style black dress by L’Wren Scott Dres, Keira Knightley‘s 50 s’ style gown by Mary Katrantzou and Mariagrazia Cucinotta’s violet dress by Armani (by the way I love her shoes!)

We also chose our three favourite floor-length dresses: again Madonna got our vote with her dove-grey gown adorned with red butterflies, created especially for the star by Italian designer Vionnet; Vittoria Puccini‘s Swarovski crystals embroidered gown from the Versace fall 2011 collection and Kate Winslet‘s black, beige and white stretch cotton dress by Stella McCartney which contoured her gorgeous curves in the best way!

A movie set location…

Sunday, September 4th, 2011

Hi girls!
How are you?
I’m back from a short holiday in Veneto, to visit my new little nephew and family. Italy was boiling last week and I have to admit I was glad, I needed some sun after a loong winter in the UK.

During this short visit I managed to find some free time to go around and discover new places and locations to offer to our couples…I managed to spot this wonderful liberty style villa in the Veneto countyside…I talked to the owner and she said it could be available for weddings! Yuppie!
While talking to her she mentioned the fact in the 70 s’ this house was the set of a famous Italian movie with Marcello Mastroianni! I can understand why…there was something magic while wondering around its rooms…beautiful retro wall paintings in the stairs leading to the first floor, wonderful art nouveau style furniture and vintage doors and decorations. I think I felt in love with it!

I will post more details on it on our wedding planner website. Enjoy the pictures now and have a nice starting of the week tomorrow!
