The most glamorous Ball of the Venice Carnival…

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

Happy Wednesday everyone,

Got an email today from a French friend of mine asking me some tips about where her parents coming to the Venice Carnival in February 2012 could find some nice and cheap place where to sleep!

I took the opportunity to send her also some tips about where the Venice Carnival best private masquerade parties would be as well! The 2012 Venice Carnival programme is now live, and here I am with a list of must-be-there events!

The 2012 Venice Carnival will be launched on February 11th until February 21st… Weeks during which you have the opportunity to book your evening into a series of elegant masquerade private parties organized in some Venice famous palazzi!

Palazzo Pisani-Moretta overlooking Canal Grande is one of them! The Gala Dinner and ball organized there on Thursday, 16th February 2012 will allow guests to discover the magic world of the Venice 18th century! Baroque dances, historical costumes, elegant and gourmet menu! Everything will be organized so the guests will enjoy an evening described by BBC 1 as The most glamorous Ball of the Carnival of Venice!

Keep tuned as we’ll keep on informing you about some more events in our next posts!!!

Unusual hair accessories for your wedding

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

Hello ladies,

How are you today? I just booked my flight to Italy for Christmas, so I’m quite excited! I will flight back home on the 22nd and spend the Christmas holidays with my friends and family…can’t wait! Sylvie and I are planning a full day in Venice as well, to visit some new venues, suppliers and get lost in still unknown spots of this wonderful city! So keep tuned!

In the meanwhile, I thought to post some photos of Alessandra Zanaria, a hat stylist completely new to me. What do you think of these unusual and colourful hair bands? I think they could be a very nice option for a bride too…

Dreaming of my Burano lace wedding dress

Monday, November 7th, 2011

Happy rainy-monday everyone,

Your Venice theme wedding will be fully reached only when you, happy-bride-to-be, add the Venice gorgeous touch to your wedding dress as well! no, no, I’m not talking about you wearing a carnevale like dress, but you looking for some rich details of the pure Burano Island tradition, that is lace!

I came across Emilia’s shop and workshop in Burano Island, that has been producing lace since 1800! A true handmade artcraft that has been passed from mother to daughter for years!

I found as well Calvina‘s fab pictures I would like to share with you!

Apparently, the above lace wedding dressw was made at the end of the 19th century. It was made by 21 women and took 5 years to complete! You would think: Wow! Do I still want to get married in 5 years time when my dress is finished?! ;-)

Your holiday house on a wild Venice island

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

Hi everyone,

Long week-end is over! I spent the whole saturday in the Venice Biennale with Mr G and my Troussepinette who turned 11 months over the week-end and who enjoyed visiting the Arsenale and the Biennale gardens, following Mum and Dad without crying! Ah, ah, ah… Brava Maya!

Our day in Venice was so sunny and warm that I felt like being on holiday really!

Am happy to delight you in this autumn-not-so-bad-weather morning with a house I recently came across, lost on a quiet Venice Island, a peaceful place among the Venice laguna! A place I would strongly suggest for an intimate wedding in Venice, far from the crowd walking up and down among the city!

Here you are with a few pics of this wonderful villa, surrounded by a magnificent garden, secular trees, water and quiet… A place any nature lover would stay forever in…

Love the mix of decadent Venice architecture with the rich interiors that remind me of some old Italian movie set location…

But where is that? Shhhh… Some more details to come on our website!
