Handmade cards just for us!

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Hello girls,
Two days left and then I will be back to Italy for a Christmas full of friends, chats and food…I can’t wait!
As you can imagine it means we will be a bit quiet with the writing in the blog…so we thought to leave you with the Christmas creation of our friend Gaelle.
She is a French designer and illustrator we met a while ago…actually during her wedding preparation in the beautiful Friuli region.

She has been so kind to design a Christmas card for us, a lovely card which we would like to share with you. Thanks Gaelle!Handmade christmas cardsWe have included below a few of Gaelle’s works, but for more visit her new website GB Illustrations  & Graphics.

I really like the description of herself she gave us:

I am a French multidisciplinary designer and illustrator.
I like colourful stains, stripes, cute knitted things, tulips, clothes pegs, fruits, wrapping paper, buttons, raspberry pies, post-it notes, hedgehogs and many other pretty things.

Enjoy the view and happy Christmas to everyone!

Under the Christmas tree…

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

Hi girls,

Have just made it! A couple of weeks right before Christmas! I was thinking the other week I would never complete my DIY Christmas gifts on time! Thank you Maya for sleeping so well last saturday afternoon!

Here I am with my almost-ready-to-bake chocolate muffins glass jars!

A cure idea I have to admit I got inspired by after surfing on the internet a while ago! I am so proud of them that I will certainly propose this idea as favours to one of our 2012 bride-to-be in Venice! Shhh… more to come then!

Here you are with what you need for the jar:
> Hermetic glass jar
> Lace ( great for a Venice theme wedding! This would recall the Burano island lace tradition!)
> Packthread
> Beverage Glass Napkin vintage style
> Your creativity!

I put in there all ingredients needed to bake chocolate muffins ( with the exception of milk, butter, and eggs, for obvious reasons…), but be creative, and fill these jars with whatever comes on your mind!!!

Enjoy!

Jenny + Graziano: A summer wedding in Veneto

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I want to show you Jenny and Graziano’s wedding in our beautiful Veneto! Yes, you do not need go to Tuscany to find a stunning countryside – if you want to be a bit different and taste a real Italian style wedding you can choose for an unusual destination such as Feltre, near Belluno and the Alps. You will find the perfect mix of countryside, mountains and plenty of art and culture!

Jenny and Graziano live in Rome, but she is from Feltre and that’s the first reason they choose to have their wedding in there. The second reason is because Veneto is a region rich in Renaissance and Palladian villas that they love.

So, what do you think?

I simply love her dress – the colours are amazing! Plus the flowers – white hydrangea everywhere and babybreath for the bouquet – are simple and so elegant!

The colours of the dress – nude with black and white embroidered little flowers and a black ribbon – have become the wedding theme colours: tables and menus were indeed decorated with white flowers and little black ribbons.

Little treats with ricotta cheese…

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

Hi girls,

Are you already in bed or still in front of your computer looking for some inspiration for Christmas.
I’m scratching my head trying to get to a final version of the Christmas menu, but we are still quite far from it. MrB and I have volunteered to cook the Christmas dinner which will be celebrated at my parents’ place this year…so beeing in charge of satisfy around fifteen mouths is not an easy task!
Home made pasta, roasted pheasan, rabbit and I could mention all the different animals and wild birds…but we haven’t found something we both agree on…so I thought to have a go with the dessert in the meanwhile. I think this will not be the one I will prepare for Christmas, but it’s certaily an easy and quick solution if you’d like to impress you sweet half after a long day at work.
These little sweets made of ricotta cheese and coconut and cocoa do not have a name, not that I know at least. My mum gave me the recipe over the phone one day and I had a go…

INGREDIENTS:
200 g of ricotta cheese
1/2 pack of reach tea finger buiscuits (Tesco)
cocoa powdel (as much as needed)
sugar (as much as you like)

Break the buscuits into small pieces and mix them with ricotta cheese and cocoa powdel (add some sugar if you like). Divide the mixture into small balls and make them roll over some coconut powdel. Leave in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving.
Let me know if you try it.
Good night to all of you!
