An Italian riad in the heart of Sicily

Posted on March 20th, 2013 by Stefania Del Zotto

Good morning lovely ladies!

It’s raining and I have to run to work in a few minutes (boo-hoo!) but if you want to be entertained by the photos of a wonderful location which reminds of hot Italian summers (do I still know what summer is?!) and relax, please don’t leave…yet!

Today I’m doing a little review about Casa Talia, a beautiful B&B in the heart of Val di Noto, in Modica.
When I saw the pictures of this luxury accomodation in the heart of Sicily I thought it was the perfect place for a little intimate wedding. The view to the baroque architecture of a typical Sicilian town, an amazing terrace surrounded by prickly pear and citrus trees and the Mediterranean atmosphere of the interior design which mixes together the Italian and Orietal traditions! These are all good ingredients for a true and romatic Italian wedding!

The B&B is situated in the ancient village of Modica, not far from the beautiful Mediterranean beaches and is composed by little independent accomodations which have been refurbished using natural and local materials.

I love the caves! This part of the house is simply relaxing and I bet quite cool during the hot Sicilian summers!

I also love the bright colours of the bedrooms, the tiles on the floors and on the walls, as well their beautiful private terraces all surrounded by green!

Marco Giunta and Viviana Haddad are the owners of this little jewel – two architects who chose to leave the busy life of Milan to start a new life following the “slowliving” philosophy. What a better place than this?! If you need any help I’m available to relocate from the UK…
