Why did I choose funny invitations?

Wedding invitations are just as important as your venue, your photographer or your flowers. What your invitations are like give your guests’ first idea about the style of the wedding they will take part in: fun, formal or sophisticated.

When choosing my invitations, I tried to have in mind the following basic elements: colour, design and last but not least cost. And most important: I wanted them to reflect myself! Gianluca and I wanted to announce our wedding in a funny way, just like we are! Since I’m pretty well known for being a creative person as well, I just made the decision to make my own invitations!

This was not easy and it required a lot of time to prepare (after several trials which were rejected by my future husband’s quality control system), but in the end I was pretty satisfied with the result: a dark chocolate paper invitation which you can open bottom-top in a horizontal way. On the left handside of the invitation, I drew some arabesque feuillage (leaves) with a silver pen – which would give them an elegant touch; On the right bottom side, I stamped a bride and a groom drawing with a silver ink , partying with a glass of champagne in the hand – just the way Gianluca and I are! A chocolate satin ribbon closes the invitation on its top right side.

This was as well an anticipation of what my wedding dress would somehow look like… but groom and guests did not know it at that stage …
