A decadent industrial shooting in Murano

Monday, October 19th, 2015

Hi ladies!
Last week we shared with you a mood board inspired by a decadent-industrial style…for the alternative brides out there! We love this theme so much that last winter we found an old building and we took some photos…yes, we kept it secret until now…autumn is here and it matching perfectly this time of the year…
Thanks to Monia Merlo for capturing these magic place and the amazing team who worked in that cold day!

Shooting in Murano - My Italian Wedding ph by Monia Merlo

Nested in Murano, one of the most remote islands in Venice, there is an ancient and unique district of creative minds producing glass wonders.
You would never imagine that those fascinating old buildings, that we have admired many times in our traveling for one wedding or another, give shelter to such an amazing treasure of glasses of different shapes and colours.
We tried and succeed to be special guests in one of them and had the pleasure to set an unusual wedding shoot.
The shooting’s theme was based on the building features – a decadent look, warm dark colours such as rust, dark reds and brown with a touch of white and blush (to contrast the others). All within a minimal setting.
This was applied to the dresses choice too – a pale pink dress, with simple lines which contrasted the model’s red long hair; and an unconventional rust flower patterned skirt with a lace black top.
The choice of flowers was easy…we wanted something delicate, elegant and loose…so we decided to go for white ranunculus.

Chiara and Andrea: A colourful save the date in Burano

Monday, October 5th, 2015

Hello sweeties!
I know many of you are in Autumn mood already but we can’t miss sharing this colourful summer shooting we organised last June!

Not sure if you remember but we launched a small competition for a couple to win a shooting taken by our friend and talented photographer Aljosa Videtic…well, Chiara and Andrea (aka Brolli) won it!
We know Venice quite well and we know places that are not so popular. One of them is the little island of Burano, a few minutes away from Venice. It is a small fishermen village known for its beautiful coloured houses…so we thought it would have been the perfect place for this summer save the date!
Chiara and Andrea liked the idea and joined us in probably one of the hottest days of the summer…if was so much fun!!!

Serena and Pierre-Oliver: a rustic wedding in Torcello

Monday, July 6th, 2015

Hi ladies!
Let’s start the week with an amazingly romantic wedding in our beloved Venice!
Serena and Pierre-Oliver got married in a sunny September in the intimate island of Torcello.
Their story starts one year earlier when at midnight of Christmas Eve Pierre-Oliver proposed to Serena in the magical Piazza San Marco. No wonder that they were absolutely sure about the location for their wedding: Venice <3
I love the style of the event, rustic but elegant with a perfect match of the colours white, salvia green with a touch of Bordeaux. Serena and Pierre-Oliver thought of every single detail from the favors – little soaps wrapped in a vintage packaging – to the names of the tables – inspired by celebrities the visited the Island of Torcello.

Alice & Thomas: Spring wedding in Venice

Friday, October 17th, 2014

Hi lovely ladies!

It’s harder and harder to find a quiet afternoon just to write…with Nora not around and without thinking of the long things-to-do list…well…it looks like today is one of those days…and for this special occasion I chose a Alice and Thomas’ wedding that we organised in May in Venice. You can’t miss Nastja and Nives‘ photos that as usual are so romantic and delicate!

It was a warm sunny day and Alice and Thomas were stunning! They chose two top locations for their big party, both Cipriani ans Bauer had gardens in bloom so you can see a different Venice today…more green and light pink…always unforgettable!

They had a religious ceremony at Redendore followed by a reception at hotel Cipriani where they enjoyed the view to San Marco at the sunset!

{ Jasmine & Thibault } A winter wedding in Venice

Tuesday, April 8th, 2014

Hello lovelies!

This is my first post as a mum. It took me quite a while to get back on track…so many things to do…but today I’m here with a little wedding that we organised last winter…stunning colours and flowers! Enjoy the view of these photos by Peggy Pigot at Maison Pestea and stay tuned, another one will be live soon!

Jasmine and Thibault got married in Venice last December in a foggy and romantic day.
We helped them with the planning of the full wedding, including their civil ceremony at Palazzo Cavalli, and it was a great feast of joy, love and colours!

Jasmine chose a red, pink, purple and gold palette for her baroque-vintage wedding. This was applied to all the decorations from the seasonal flowers of her bouquet, which stood up against her dark brown fur, to the stationery, chairs and pom poms at the venue.

Originally from Bordeaux, they chose Venice because they wanted to have a ‘different’ wedding – four days to spend with their family and closest friends in a beautiful setting. So when they found that there was a direct flight from Bordeaux to Venice they thought it was the right place for them…so after four months of preparation, a lot of calls and a taste dinner delivered to Bordeaux by courrier they got married!

The hardest part for us? It was to find their dinner glasses..Jasmine didn’t want standard glasses but some old looking decorated china glasses that we eventually ordered from France after a very long research! All fun!!

Sabine & Dieter: An Intimate Autumn Wedding in Venice

Thursday, November 14th, 2013

Hello girls!

I hope you are doing well!
We are nearly at the end of the wedding season…then a bit of rest for both me and Sylvie. The past ones have been really busy months with the wedding affairs and, for myself, with my private life getting ready to become a mum! My bump is growing quite quickly and we will soon have a little girl (provisionally called “Cocca”) screaming and keeping us asleep!

A part from this, today I would like to share some photos of this intimate Austrian wedding in Venice that we did a few weeks ago. I love the warm brown, cream and gold colours which make this wedding a real Autumnal feast!

We had a lot of fun working with Sabine and Dieter and organise their civil wedding in Venice in less that two months!

Thank you Serena and Francesco at Wedding City for sharing these romantic photos!

From Hong-Kong with love

Tuesday, January 8th, 2013

Hello girls,

Hope you’ve had a wonderful week-end!

I would like to start the week with a lovely Chinese pre-wedding session in Venice! I’ve been following the wonderful job of Peggy from Maison Pestea Photography for quite a while, but for a number of reasons, we were both able to be in touch and get to know at each other during the last Christmas break! Peggy, just like me, has been living in Italy for a number of years and spending some time with her on the phone chatting only in French has been quite of a fresh air breath!

I’m happy to share today then Celia and Joe’s pre-wedding session. They both come from Hong Kong. They plan to get married in March 2013, but before that they chose to travel to Europe for a series of pre-wedding sessions shots! They spent thus 15 days in Europe and visited different places, taking each time the opportunity to have a prewedding session with a photographer and each time with a dress and different bouquets… Amazing isn’t it?

Celia and Joe’s session in Venice started from Hotel Carlton facing the Grand Canal, where they stayed during their journey. They spent most of their time with Peggy in Santa Croce and Dorsoduro.

Love the shots in the gondola! What do you think?

When fashion meets the tradition of a Venetian villa

Sunday, November 11th, 2012

Happy Sunday lovely girls!

This post has been kept pending on top of my head for quite a while but now here we go!

Last September, thanks to a couple of day trainings, I had the opportunity to stay in Ca’ Zane Martin, a wonderful tiny and intimate Venetian villa dated back to the 15th century, situated not far from the Brenta river!

This is when talking with the owner that I got to know that it took him some 10 years to refurbish the villa, to restore the frescoes and to take it back to the ancient glory! Wonderful results!

While I was there I also discovered some pictures of a wonderful shooting which took place in there.
These are the photos I managed to find… a wonderful model in an atmosphere that recalls some dark and gothic times…simply elegant and fab! I hope you like them!

A fizzy save the date session in Burano

Tuesday, June 19th, 2012

Hi girls,

Here I am today with something fresh, juicy and sooooo colourful!

It was right after I came back from my last journey in Venice, that I came across this colourful save the date session in Burano, shot with so much care and love by Michela!

Michela and Giuseppe, last year bride and groom to be, were about to get married in their home Sicily, but before that they assigned to Michela Zucchini their save-the-date session shoot in Venice!

Burano is the perfect place in the summer time!

This session is soooo vintage and I love the perfect contrast between Michela’s dress and the colour offered by Burano as an overall atmosphere! Let you eyes enjoy this lovely colourful moment!

A masquerade ball at the Venice carnival

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

Hello girls,

With the Venice Carnival approaching I’d love to give you another tip if  you are around and want to take part in one of the glamorous masquerade parties in Venice.
After mentioning the one in villa Pisani-Moretta on Thursday the 16th, there is another one to mention: the Venezia Romantica Gala dinner and ball organized at famous Danieli Hotel on Tuesday 21st February 2012!

No word to describe the elegance and beauty of the Danieli Hotel… A unique experience in town…Furthermore during the last masquerade ball of the Carnival inspired by the XVIII century old romantic times…

This private party is a great opportunity to experience an authentic evening ball and can learn basic steps of the dances from eighteenth and nineteenth century.

For more details on the programme and menu you can visit the information posted here (in Italian only)
