Happy New Year, we hope you spent a lovely holiday time….It’s time for our inspirational post of the month, the first of 2016! Today we will share with you a dreaming mood board inspired by two colours of Pantone Spring 2016 selection: Serenity and Rose Quartz. They are both really delicate and romantic, so we thought they would be perfect for a romantic Italian wedding!
But first of all our usual picture of an Italian place and look…There are no words to describe such an amazing picture of Venice. No wonder why is one of the most beautiful cities of the world. Enjoy!
These colours are perfect for the bride who wants to have a non-white dress. I really like the effect of the tulle and lace fabric in the Serenity colour.
Looking outside the window this morning I could see our stunning mountains all covered in snow and they got me thinking for a great idea for the last mood board of the year! A wedding characterized by wood, trees and a magical atmosphere of a mountain forest. I really like the idea of a wedding set in the woods near the mountains surrounded only by nature with a rustic and charming style. Check out all the pictures we selected to create an unique style for your Italian wedding into the wild!
Let’s start with some views of Italian Mountains….First a beautiful landscape in Friuli Venezia Giulia with the mountains on the back and an amazing fields of wild flowers. It would be amazing to take some wedding pictures here! And what about the Cime di Lavaredo and the lake Sorapis?!
For the wedding dress, a loose-long gown with lace or nature inspired inserts is a perfect choice. The accessorizes are always an important part of the outfit. A floral or green crown is an expected but proper element for a wedding into the wild!
Outside is raining today, that means I’m near the fireplace with a cup of tea looking for some ideas for you! Thinking back of the amazing summer we had this year I chose a super fun and happy theme for the mood board of this month…. When I was working on the Polka dot wedding inspiration a few months ago I had so much fun so for the today post I set aside colours and focused again on a pattern: stripes!
Here’s some beautiful pictures to plan an amazing striped wedding here in Italy.
To begin some inspiration from our beloved country…. Italy is full of stripes! I found this lovely church in Sardinia, and what to say about Venice’s gondolier…so stylish!
From the past to the present stripes patterns are a really unique detail, perfect for personalized the wedding outfit, both for him and for her.
I really like the skin-peeking sheer dress, an alternative way to incorporate stripes to your style!
It’s all about the decoration! Tapes, ribbons etc….You just have to choose the type of stripes, the colours and the fabric.
For the cake I chose two different but both original options. The naked cake creates a natural stripe pattern which I personally love and the watercolour layered cake is simply stunning.
This ribbons installation is a perfect choice for the ceremony. Stripes are yes a fun choice but at the same time really elegant and unique.
Let’s start the week with an inspirational mood board!
This month I decided to get inspired by some abandoned buildings and create a vintage industrial style. Wandering around Italy you could have the possibility to find some dismissed factory (usually from the textile sector) who had their success in the early ‘900. Now some of them are the perfect location for an industrial wedding for the lovers of vintage and antiques. From this inspiration you can create an unique and unusual wedding in some still not so famous venues in Italy. If you don’t want the villa or the castle kind of wedding, this is the post for you!
For the industrial bride I selected two kind of style: first some stunning lace gowns in the tones of beige which are perfect for wedding with a vintage touch. Then the classic white dress…always a good choice but with the right hairstyle and accessorizes.
Here some beautiful pictures of stunning flowers designs and ideas. An industrial venue leave the space for some colourful wedding flowers. I love dahlias and the contrast of dark and light colour flowers.
A selection of three really tempting cakes here. I really like the Pavlova and the copper topping of the layered cake in the centre.
Here some ideas of decoration for the ceremony and reception. Have fun with fabrics and vintage items…
September is already arrived so here we are with our monthly inspirational mood board we hope it could be helpful for your future wedding, especially if you are planning a wedding in Italy in this period.
September is an important month in Italy, especially in the Regions like ours where vines have an important role. This is, in fact, the Vendemmia season, that is the period between September and October of the grape harvest that begin the wine making process every year.
The colours palette I chose mix graduations from the marsala (a Sicilian wine which gave the name to the colour), green and copper which represents perfectly the colours of the different kinds of grapes as you can see from the following pictures.
A Fall vineyard wedding theme is an original and seasonable event, with lots of possibility of styles to choose and activity to make…
For the look I chose some beautiful dresses in different shade of marsala. Have you ever think about not having a white wedding dress?
For the shoes three stunning pairs….I love the one with laces, unique and elegant!
Here a selection of floral arrangement where combines different union of the colour palette. The floral crown in the middle is really lovely with a marked shade of copper that highlight the unique mix of marsala hues.
Cheese cheese cheese! I’m not sure about it but it has become a trend lately to have different kind of cheese wheel put together in the shape of a layered cake….What do you think?
For the deco you can let your imagination run wild… wine, grapes, barrels, corks, coloured glasses….you name it!
I particulary like the garden setting in the vineyard with pouffes and the vintage wine jug.

It’s time for our monthly appointment with the moodboard wedding inspiration!
A few days ago I was looking back for the million time (I never get tired) to the beautiful pictures of Roger and Remko wedding in Apulia we featured last month. I completely fell in love with the beautiful apulian landscapes, the trulli, the secular olive trees, the colour of the ground.
What’s more rustic and vintage than a olive green and peach, almost terracotta colour palette?
Look at this stunning views of the magnificent Apulia region… A perfect location for a Italian countryside wedding cerimony and full of beautiful spots to take some amazing wedding pictures…
Look at this fabolous dress of BHLDN with its tiers of shimmering lace, definetely an alternative gown to get married in! On the right a vintage inspired fabric made of cotton and lace.
The shoes….I never get tired of shoes… I selected for you a high heel floral velvet Valentino pair and for those who wants a lower heel a vintage olive green pair of stunning shoes!
To complete the look here some options of jewerly. I love the green and peach earrings, a perfect choice for a sofisticated look. What about the cameo ring? Simply dreaming…
For the flowers the olive branches are so perfect and eye-catching. I really love the bouquet in the center, so rustic and elegant with different kinds of flowers and leaves. For the centerpieces and floral decoration the use of vintage items like the antique scale on the left is a different and original way to create a beautifully personalized style for the reception.
Getting married in Apulia will give you a lot of choices for decoration items. The Apulia region has a lot of different handmade typical manifactures as those stunning ceramic plates handmade painted and terracotta vases. Another original apulian item is the Pumo, you can see through the plates, rapresents a flower bud blossoming and simbolize luck and fertility in the Apulian tradition. It come in different sizes and can be use for decoration or as a wedding favour for your guests.
Have you already fell in love with the apulian atmosphere? The next step is to get married in Apulia and live an original fairytale!

Here we are with our monthly inspirational post…this month I decided to twist the topic and chose to get inspired by the Polka dot theme. What do you think?
The polka dot pattern has been always an elegant, fun and sophisticated fashion must since the 20s through the 50s till these days…In weddings these little points are for sure a 2015 trend, not only for dresses but also for the decorations, the food and the stationary!
To start I selected three pictures of three immortal icons of the last century:
The dreaming Brigitte Bardot spotted here in Spoleto on August 1961 – the talented Bette Davis in a stunning dress – the beautiful Audrey Hepburn, so stylish with a so contemporary polka dot bikini.
For the dress a long elegant gown with the detail of cotton polka dot as in the second one featured with an elegant lace. For a retro wedding inspired by the 50s I chose a short dress with a polka dot skirt, really beautiful.
For the shoes and the accessorize here are some pretty things. I tried to select some items with a sophisticated touch of different kind of dots in order to create a chic and stylish look!
I must say I had some trouble find the right options for the flowers but look at the yellow bouquet with acacia flowers… An alternative to little flowers, as also the baby breath, are the black eyed anemones that pops out of the bouquet and refer perfectly to the polka dot theme. For him a stunning Boutonnière with lots of different coloured dots… Can you believe they are all dried flowers?
I particularly love all these three tablecloth, they are a simple but fancy element at your reception. What about the lights? A magical atmosphere…

Summer is finally coming so today I want to have a little fun with you getting inspired by the colours yellow and turquoise.
At first I was not completely sure these colours would be a perfect combination but at the end I changed my mind. The results are amazing!
If you are planning a spring or summer wedding, and you want be original and have fun, this inspirational post is for you!!
Look at this photo of an engagement in Burano we talked about a few years ago…so dreaming.
And what about the yellow boat in the spectacular turquoise sea of Cinque Terre?
Italy is a country full of colours and unexpecting treasure like this stairs decorated with ceramic in Sicily and the beautiful door in Venice.
For an eccentric bride who wants to amaze her soon to be husband and guests a coloured dress is perfect.
I selected a beautiful yellow lace gown by Hamda Al Fahim and a 50s inspired dress, ideal also for your bridesmaid!
I especially love the Indian gown full of beading and with an unusual weave… Princess Kate is so elegant with this low back lace turquoise dress!!
For those who wants a traditional wedding gown, coloured shoes or accessorize are ideal.
For the flowers here some stunning bouquet for her and boutonnière for him.
Billy balls are a unique component for your wedding flower decoration!!
A few option for you… a classic layered cake decorating with flowers or a fun one with coordinated cupcakes.
I love the table setting in the middle of the orchard…a perfect inspiration if you are planning a summer wedding in the south of Italy…

Hello darlings! Happy belated Easter!
I hope you all enjoyed a nice break!
I’m looking out of the window and I can see that spring has eventually reached the North Est of Italy! So I thought a nice inspirational post with an emerald green palette is the perfect match to start this week!
What’s more greener than this spectacular hillside fields in Torre a Castello in Tuscany?
I selected also three details of beautiful Italian places…from the left there is a green painted house in the colourful Burano, a mysterious lighthouse in Imperia (Liguria) and a almost perfect Italian style garden of an old villa…
I really like this colour! Either you have dark or blonde hair, green makes pop your personality and give you at the same time a sophisticated look. The green lace of both dresses is stuuning…
What about the accessorizes?
I really like how just a little detail, like a necklace, a sash or just the shoes can change your look and make it unique.
Green eye roses mixed with lots of different leaves and wild flower are perfect for a sophisticated rustic wedding….What do you think about this stunning arch?
Even though I chose three layered cake I tried to select different style.
I love the center one… so particular with those watercolour!!
I love the green glasses and the lace plates in the centre!
It’s getting really cold out there, isn’t it? It’s not just here in the UK but also in my beloved Italy…so I thought to take inspiration from this foggy photo of Bergamo, Northen Italy, to put together a mood board inspired by dusk purple and plum shades…what do you think? I’m quite intrigued by these colours as they are a bit unusual for a wedding palet, but elegant and even sophisticated…The other photos of Italy (a part from the first one which is from an unknown location) were taken in Volterra (the old door) and in the Como Lake (I love that hanging wisteria!).
I’ve also choosen three dresses in thre different shades of puple…
The first one is an original vintage dress, I love the faded purple colour as well as the imbroidered details at the top and in the low part of the skirt. The second dress is simply stunning! I adore the sharp plum colour and the match with the emerald details (earings and bracelet) as well as the tulle sleaves and the plissé skirt. The third dress is very simple, but I like its semplicity which mainly works on the body’s curves…
Plum colours are usually associated to dahlias and calla lilies…I chose both these flowers because I love dahlias in general and calla lilies in this specific colours are a bit more interesting the the usual white ones…
A few options here…from an interesting lavender flavoured pudding to a home made plum cake (my prefered one!) to an American style ruffled cake!
I chose something very simply for the table stationery, mainly hand written or resembling the hand writing…all in purple paper…
