Happy and sunny monday all! I’m waking up today with Mika’s great song Grace Kelly which reminds me that I still have some secrets I haven’t told you about yet regarding my last month trip to Italy…
One of the most interesting moments was to meet Giusy, an Italian dressmaker specialized in handmade wedding dresses in Pordenone. We were so lucky as when we visited her she was working on a very special wedding dress! Here we are with a few pics taken by Sylvie.
Giusy told us Barbara, the bride to be, wanted a Chanel 1950′s style wedding dress she saw on a magazine. She brought Giusy a picture of it and asked her to create something similar. That’s what she made! That wedding dress was not only similar to what the bride to be wanted: the dress was actually exactly the same!
A knee-length wedding gown made of a fantastic Ivory colour Duchess satin fabric – very lustrous and luxurious – with beads in different dimensions and all embroidered by hand!!! Sleeves, collar and belt have embroidered edges as well. Hours of handmade work on it…
Giusy was asked to make Barbara’s bridesmaid dress as well.
A lilac short dress with a nice bolero. I love the colour and that elegant and gentle game of creases!
Last but not least, we could not prevent from taking a final shot of our dressmaker Giusy at work! Barbara would be for sure satisfied with the result of Giusy’s expert and magical hands!

Wow the craftsmenship is amazing!
How lovely to have a handmade dress, super posh! Lovely pics xx

Hi Charlie!
Thanks for visiting us!
Barbara’s big day was in July earlier this year! I’m going to check if we can find a picture of her in her dress on her day as unfortunately we haven’t seen any so far! I’ll certainly come back to you afterwards!
Enjoy your day!
