Greta and Fabio: A country Wedding in Verona

Posted on November 9th, 2015 by Silvia

Happy Monday everyone!

The sun is shining again here in Italy and it makes me so happy I will share with you an amazing wedding captured by Valerio Di Domenica! When I first saw these pictures I was overwhelmed with emotions and I think you will too.
Greta and Fabio got married on a sunny day in the romantic city of Romeo and Juliet, Verona. An intimate and simple event with the closest family and friends in the Venetian countryside but with a lot of surprises and laughs! I love the bride Greta’s style.. a simple flawy dress adorn with a pair of beautiful coral sandals. What about the bouquet? Simply stunning, with some shades of blue and pink…
Nuff said, here’s the twist of the plot… Bride and Groom, together with the photographer Valerio decided to have some pictures in a suggestive yet dreaming birch forest. Suddenly, in the middle of the shooting, some unexpected “guests” arrived…. A bunch of cows grazing interrupted a lovely session and became the part of an amazing wedding shoot!! I love it! A big thank you to Valerio, Greta and Fabio for sharing with us these stunning pictures.

Mood board: Striped Wedding Inspiration

Posted on November 2nd, 2015 by Silvia

Hello ladies!
Outside is raining today, that means I’m near the fireplace with a cup of tea looking for some ideas for you! Thinking back of the amazing summer we had this year I chose a super fun and happy theme for the mood board of this month…. When I was working on the Polka dot wedding inspiration a few months ago I had so much fun so for the today post I set aside colours and focused again on a pattern: stripes!
Here’s some beautiful pictures to plan an amazing striped wedding here in Italy.

To begin some inspiration from our beloved country…. Italy is full of stripes! I found this lovely church in Sardinia, and what to say about Venice’s gondolier…so stylish!

From the past to the present stripes patterns are a really unique detail, perfect for personalized the wedding outfit, both for him and for her.
I really like the skin-peeking sheer dress, an alternative way to incorporate stripes to your style!

It’s all about the decoration! Tapes, ribbons etc….You just have to choose the type of stripes, the colours and the fabric.

For the cake I chose two different but both original options. The naked cake creates a natural stripe pattern which I personally love and the watercolour layered cake is simply stunning.

This ribbons installation is a perfect choice for the ceremony. Stripes are yes a fun choice but at the same time really  elegant and unique.

Our selection of industrial wedding venue in Italy

Posted on October 26th, 2015 by Silvia

Hello sweeties!
We noticed you really liked the industrial wedding shoot we shared last week! We want always continue to inspire you and find the unusual, the original touch that could give a certain je ne sais quoi to your wedding!
So for the today’s post we talk again about the industrial theme, focusing on the location… We have searched all around Italy and found some amazing industrial venues, here’s our selection!

Filanda Motta – Veneto

Once a spinning mill, Filanda Motta is a perfect example of industrial architecture. Due to the crisis of the 1930s and the world wars the mill stopped working around 1960 and was then abandoned. Nowadays thanks to the restoration of a cultural club Filanda Motta hosts several events, from exhibitions, fashion shows to weddings. The main characteristic, which I really like, are the big windows and the beautiful cotto tile floor. You can see also some pictures of the spinning mill before it was closed, really suggestive…
Filanda Motta is perfect for those who are looking for an industrial venue but don’t want to renounce to the countryside element.

Stazione Leopolda – Tuscany

The stazione leopolda was a real railroad station built in 1848 in Firenze named in honour of the reigning Grand Duke. It is a really unique venue with a huge and impressive structure and a capturing industrial style. It is the ideal venue for a big wedding. Like most of every industrial venue, Stazione Leopolda gives you the possibility to create freely lots of different styles and setting for your wedding, that is a really great opportunity!

Fabbrica Borroni

Born in the end of 1800 as a toy factory, Fabbrica Borroni is a original location in Bollate, a few minutes from Milan. An artistic venue defined by an industrial past but in a modern contest. In Fabbrica Borroni you can find also some unique and marvelous wall paintings as you can see from the pictures. An ideal venue for a metropolitan and cultural wedding focused on contemporary art and design.

Fabbrica Saccardo

Fabbrica Saccardo is an industrial complex built at the end of 1800. It was renewed accurately maintaining the original architecture but giving a modern touch. Its interior is stunning with beautiful iron columns. On the outside you might have many opportunity to take some amazing pictures thanks also to the green surroundings. I would love to see a minimal chic wedding set in this outstanding venue…would you?

A decadent industrial shooting in Murano

Posted on October 19th, 2015 by Silvia

Hi ladies!
Last week we shared with you a mood board inspired by a decadent-industrial style…for the alternative brides out there! We love this theme so much that last winter we found an old building and we took some photos…yes, we kept it secret until now…autumn is here and it matching perfectly this time of the year…
Thanks to Monia Merlo for capturing these magic place and the amazing team who worked in that cold day!

Shooting in Murano - My Italian Wedding ph by Monia Merlo

Nested in Murano, one of the most remote islands in Venice, there is an ancient and unique district of creative minds producing glass wonders.
You would never imagine that those fascinating old buildings, that we have admired many times in our traveling for one wedding or another, give shelter to such an amazing treasure of glasses of different shapes and colours.
We tried and succeed to be special guests in one of them and had the pleasure to set an unusual wedding shoot.
The shooting’s theme was based on the building features – a decadent look, warm dark colours such as rust, dark reds and brown with a touch of white and blush (to contrast the others). All within a minimal setting.
This was applied to the dresses choice too – a pale pink dress, with simple lines which contrasted the model’s red long hair; and an unconventional rust flower patterned skirt with a lace black top.
The choice of flowers was easy…we wanted something delicate, elegant and loose…so we decided to go for white ranunculus.

Mood board: Industrial wedding Inspiration

Posted on October 12th, 2015 by Silvia

Industrial wedding inspiration

Hi ladies!
Let’s start the week with an inspirational mood board!
This month I decided to get inspired by some abandoned buildings and create a vintage industrial style. Wandering around Italy you could have the possibility to find some dismissed factory (usually from the  textile sector) who had their success in the early ‘900. Now some of them are the perfect location for an industrial wedding for the lovers of vintage and antiques. From this inspiration you can create an unique and unusual wedding in some still not so famous venues in Italy. If you don’t want the villa or the castle kind of wedding, this is the post for you!

For the industrial bride I selected two kind of style: first some stunning lace gowns in the tones of beige which are perfect for wedding with a vintage touch. Then the classic white dress…always a good choice but with the right hairstyle and accessorizes.

Chiara and Andrea: A colourful save the date in Burano

Posted on October 5th, 2015 by Silvia

Hello sweeties!
I know many of you are in Autumn mood already but we can’t miss sharing this colourful summer shooting we organised last June!

Not sure if you remember but we launched a small competition for a couple to win a shooting taken by our friend and talented photographer Aljosa Videtic…well, Chiara and Andrea (aka Brolli) won it!
We know Venice quite well and we know places that are not so popular. One of them is the little island of Burano, a few minutes away from Venice. It is a small fishermen village known for its beautiful coloured houses…so we thought it would have been the perfect place for this summer save the date!
Chiara and Andrea liked the idea and joined us in probably one of the hottest days of the summer…if was so much fun!!!

Our top selection of churches for your Italian wedding

Posted on September 28th, 2015 by Silvia

Hi everyone!
The ceremony is perhaps the most important part of a wedding. There are different kind of function, from the religious, the civil to the symbolic one.

Some churches in fact are deconsecrated and this allows you the unique possibility to have a symbolic ceremony. If you wish to have your wedding in an Italian church, either if you desire to have a religious or a symbolic ceremony, we strongly advise you to check always with who manage the church, every single one has its own rules, that are not always compatible with your needs.
For more information check out this guide for all kinds of ceremony you could have for your wedding.
So here are our top selection of churches in hope to give you some inspiration for your Italian wedding. Enjoy!

Sylvie and Gianluca: A romantic session in Apulia

Posted on September 21st, 2015 by Sylvie

Hi sweeties!
It’s been a long long time but I finally had some time to write on the blog!
The wedding season is been for me and Stefania really intense this year, but we manage sometime between 2 weddings, to have a break for a weekend! And this is what I and Gianluca, my husband, did a few weeks ago for my birthday!

Engagement in Apulia - Trullo

A long week-end in Apulia for my birthday, only he and I with no kids around! A real special week-end for us, full of emotions, as I spent one year of my life in Apulia 15 years ago, a hard year from a feelings perspective, during which I and my now-husband, reinforced strongly our relationship, as Apulia was at that time so so so far away from Venice where we are now…
A special gift was for the occasion a shooting session with a super fantastic photographer from the area, Andrea Antohi who we introduced to you a couple of months ago for the dreaming wedding of Roger and Remko.
We told him we wanted some pics of us in a really Apulian context, trulli, an old masseria ( that is an ancient farm), olive trees surrounded by a wild nature, the blue sea in the background…
We finally end up in the stunning Masseria Mozzone in Montalbano di Fasano. We were surrounded by an ancient olive grove, wheat fields, wild flowers and we were completely absorbed by the sounds and colors of the true Apulian countryside.
It was magical, me and Gianluca will never forget it, thanks also to the amazing work of Andrea…we are so in love with his pics!

Cecilia and Alessio: A charming Italian wedding in Umbria

Posted on September 14th, 2015 by Silvia

Hi ladies!
Hello wormy September! What a nice month for an Italian wedding…
Today I will share with you a super romantic one…I send a big thank you to Elisa and Marco of Studio26 who send us these beautiful pictures.

Wedding in Umbria

Cecilia and Alessio are a really sweet Italian couple who got married in Umbria, a beautiful region in the centre of Italy. Their wedding was a warm and cozy event between laughs, jokes and emotions…
The love between the two was palpable as you can see from how they look so romantically to each other.
They changed their vows in a stunning little church with suggestive frescos on the walls and an antique wooden sealing. The party continued in the Fattoria Caldese where all the guests, as part of a one big family, had lots of excitement dancing and laughing with the happy couple!
I love the bride Cecilia’s strapless, simple and elegant dress. The floral crown, which was made by the bridesmaids, is a really beautiful detail that complete a really chic and delicate style. Enjoy their story…

Mood board: Fall vineyard wedding inspiration

Posted on September 7th, 2015 by Silvia

Hello sweeties!
September is already arrived so here we are with our monthly inspirational mood board we hope it could be helpful for your future wedding, especially if you are planning a wedding in Italy in this period.
September is an important month in Italy, especially in the Regions like ours where vines have an important role. This is, in fact, the Vendemmia season, that is the period between September and October of the grape harvest that begin the wine making process every year.

fall-wedding-inspiration_0008

colour palette

The colours palette I chose mix graduations from the marsala (a Sicilian wine which gave the name to the colour), green and copper which represents perfectly the colours of the different kinds of grapes as you can see from the following pictures.
A Fall vineyard wedding theme is an original and seasonable event, with lots of possibility of styles to choose and activity to make…

the look

For the look I chose some beautiful dresses in different shade of marsala. Have you ever think about not having a white wedding dress?
For the shoes three stunning pairs….I love the one with laces, unique and elegant!

the flowers

Here a selection of floral arrangement where combines different union of the colour palette. The floral crown in the middle is really lovely with a marked shade of copper that highlight the unique mix of marsala hues.

on the table Cheese cheese cheese! I’m not sure about it but it has become a trend lately to have different kind of cheese wheel put together in the shape of a layered cake….What do you think?

the deco

For the deco you can let your imagination run wild… wine, grapes, barrels, corks, coloured glasses….you name it!
I particulary like the garden setting in the vineyard with pouffes and the vintage wine jug.
