Good morning lovelies!
Today I’d like to bring a little bit of freshness from the stunning Dolomites green fields with Silvia and Emanuele’s wedding in the moutains!
I came across Lorenzo‘s photos by chance and I completely felt in love with them…then I got in contact with Silvia, the bride, who told me everything about their orginal wedding in the Dolomites, which took place last June.
Everything was planned and organised by the couple, well done guys!
Let’s start from the beginning…
What is a common place to start a wedding? My first choice would be at the bride and groom’s house, but also at the church or town hall…well, for this wedding the meeting point was at the beginning of the path to hit the wedding venue at Rifugio Fodara, in Marebbe valley (Alto Adige region) - everyone was there in the early morning (bride and groom included) with backpacks, confy snikers and shorts!
I would have loved to be there and walk through those green fields!
The bride and some friends arriving at the venue before the wedding…
My husband and I love the mountains, that’s why we decided we wanted to celebrate our wedding day in a location like this. Plus, it’s just here in San Vigilio di Marebbe that we met in 1994, thanks to our parents who loved to spend their holidays here when we were children.
This is a wonderful place, just in the middle of Fanes Senes Braies natural park, which you can reach only by walk (an hour). We arranged a shuttle service by jeep for those who weren’t able to walk up there and we also booked all the rooms at the venue: some guests used them to sleep that night, some others used them to change themselves after the long walk.
Since most of our guests were arriving from far away we wanted to give them a little treat – before the wedding we sent them a save the date and magnet asking them to be free for the whole week-end and after a few weeks we sent an unusual invitation: a little booklet containing a lot of information and map on the location and its surroundings. On the day we left a thank you card and brooch in each room.
Choosing the wedding dress was not that difficult. I really liked the idea of a mid lenght skirt – I had seen so many brides with long dresses who were not free in their movements…so I really wanted to feel confortable for my wedding day and I also thought it better represented my personality! With these clear ideas I went to the first atelier and I found my dress straight away! It had the right mix of extreme elegance (which is not my style really) and whimsical touch. Plus, my husband really likes my legs so to show them was a generous present to him too!!!
It was harder with the shoes. I needed something flat, so a pair of white pumps was the option number one. I also needed an alternative in case of bad weather, so I thought of a pair of white boots which was not that easy since we were at the beginning of the summer and all the windows were already showing sandals…anyway, I was lucky enough to come across these funny pair of boots for only 62 euro! That was the right choice since that day it was only 10 degrees!
I also went for a diy makeup and hairdo – for this last one I bought a white hair band with a little floral decoration.
